Deirdre has always loved growing food. She first dipped into organic small-scale agriculture more formally as a Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association Apprentice in 2022. You may recognize her from the Bangor Farmers’ Market where she has worked for the past four summers. She currently serves on the Board of the Maine Federation of Farmers' Markets.

Before moving to Bangor, she was a researcher for Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo, focusing on human-wildlife interactions within agricultural systems.
